Course Description
This is an extensive 3 weeks course for beginners and teens (starting at 13 years old and above) to learn the basics of Graphic design. This program aims to inspire, introduce, and motivate emerging artists to transition into higher education in the art & design field. By engaging and creating hands-on
projects mixed with theoretical knowledge, students will develop a set of technical and conceptual skills across several methods of design making using Adobe’s software.

Topics Covered:

  • Image-making methodologies and systems
  • Publication design and poster design
  • Professional logo package design and typeface design
  • Final project

Class Scheduling
Twice a week (days depend on schedule)..

Learning Objectives
Participants will learn the difference between entity, brand, identity & logo, as well as how to create their own logos, project posters and packaging—the whole of branding. In addition, throughout the diploma they will undertake plenty of practice based projects leading them to be proficient in Adobe’s
Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign while understanding typography and colour branding analysis.

Qualification Obtained
KEMET Certificate of completion.

Access to Further Studies
Using their outcome projects, students can apply to the graphic design and communication diploma, or visual effects and motion graphics diploma at KEMET to enhance their design skills, take more art courses in high school, apply to postgraduate courses or master’s programs.
