Course Description
Design is one of the most important aspects of making jewellery yet it is often over looked. During this introductory course you will explore the basics of jewellery design as it provides a great opportunity to explore, experiment and develop crafting skills essential for building a lasting foundation in this type of design.

Learning Objectives
Participants will gain the skills needed to design jewellery pieces and execute metalsmithing techniques such as, piercing, filing, forming, soldering, etc. They will be able to identify different types of metals, their gauges and properties and how they are used in jewellery/metals projects.

- Drawing for jewellery design
- Basic metal-smithing techniques, such as:
- Sawing
- Filing
- Soldering
- Making jewelry with silver and brass
- Creating your own earrings, pendants and rings.
